Established in 2011, we’ve been enabling young people to realise and achieve their potential in a 21st century world. We achieve this aim through a number of programmes which you can explore below.
Skills development is a clear and consistent finding from our work with young people across the United Kingdom. We’ve achieved so much with our volunteers, and it’s great to see that it’s not just the volunteers who benefit.
We find that other young people, and friends and families of our beneficiaries, are part of the wider range of social impact. This impact includes but is not limited to: increasing awareness of health and well-being, tackling unemployment and their motivation to do more in our communities – a winning formula.
Our approach is to directly invest in young people with trust at the highest of levels – we have a strong ‘by young people, for young people’ ethos which is backed up through the fact that we have no one in the organisation over the age of 22. Young people aged between 12 and 22 form our volunteers, management committee, board of directors and key ‘moulders’ in our programmes.
We report a large percentage of young people gaining more confidence and it’s clear that confidence delivers change – we pride ourselves on getting the best out of young people and creating a family feel with a sense of belonging and commitment.
In 2011, Xplode was just an idea – today, it is one of the only young person’s charities in Britain to take the By Young People, For Young People ethos to heart – We are entirely run by and for young people and this model is key to our success. We know young people’s needs and wants and we deliver to those needs and wants.
